Hello
I’m Dr Wendy Bowley, a Clinical Psychologist with over 20 years’ experience.

I understand that there comes a point in midlife when you are just trying to do everything and it is leaving you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, resentful and joyless. You’ve achieved so much, but you don’t feel like you’re living the life you’ve worked so hard for and the thought of getting off this treadmill scares you.

I know you want space in your life for what matters most. My years of experience combined with the depth and breadth of my clinical training enable me to understand the unique issues of women in midlife and work with them to find the right solution.

Born and raised in Staffordshire, I moved to the Channel Islands in 2010 and then to the Cotswolds in 2022. I understand the challenges successful women face in our modern world and approach my work with the compassion that insight affords me. I recognise that even if things look amazing from the outside, you may be struggling to cope with the conflicting demands and emotional strain of trying to have and do it all.
I know you want space in your life for what matters most

A deep understanding of your unique issues
I’ve worked as a fully qualified clinical psychologist since 2003, firstly in a variety of roles within the NHS and then with the States of Jersey Health and Social Services. My public service career offered me the opportunity to engage with and help people from a variety of backgrounds with a huge range of life experiences and issues and this continues to inform my practice today. I now work exclusively in the private sector, offering my services to individuals in the Cotswolds who want to enjoy a more balanced and fulfilling life.

I have also used my skills and experience to develop others in the profession through the provision of supervision, consultation and training for a wide range of health professionals; training and clinical placements to university Clinical Psychology Doctoral Programmes; and now through ongoing co-supervision for experienced colleagues. These activities have widened and deepened my understanding of the profession and the benefits clinical psychology can deliver.
A knowledgeable guide to lasting change
Qualifying and maintaining professional standing as a Clinical Psychologist requires many years of study and ongoing professional development. This level of rigour ensures that clients can be confident the person in whom they have placed their trust has the skills and experience to help them sensitively and effectively.

After completing my Bachelor of Science in Psychology I went on to attain my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Cognitive Therapy, and an Advanced Accreditation in Schema Therapy. Each year I participate in supervision and professional courses and undertake independent study to ensure my skills and knowledge remain relevant and up to date.
